Community Clean Up

Our grade 7 class helping clean up the community on June 4th. 

Students competed to see who could gather the most garbage. All students worked hard and this big pile was only a portion of what we collected. Keep up the great work everyone!

Bake Sale

Healthy Eating

The grade 7 class will be hosting a bake sale tomorrow at 11:00 to raise money for our Health/Media Project. The students are learning about healthy meal options, reading nutrition labels and understanding the eat well plate. They will take this knowledge and prepare one well-balanced meal. They will each create a budget of the ingredients they need for their meal.

Cooking Show

The students will turn their meal and new knowledge to produce, direct and star in their own cooking show. The students have learned about camera angles and writing storyboards from the High School Drama/Multi-Media teacher, and will be using video cameras and editing software to create their own mini episodes in small groups.

Buzzing with Excitement

The buzz of excitement is amazing in our class. This project has so many elements integrated into it. I believe that rich culminating tasks definitely draw in our students' interests and imaginations. We look forward to sharing the final products with you!

The Grade 7 students have been learning about Structures - Form and Function. 

As their culminating task, the class had to design blueprints to plan out their bridge. Each piece of pasta cost a different price. The students had to calculate how much pasta they wanted to include without going over $100. They had to include all of the components of bridge building that we've been learning about.

Screen Chomp Simile Poetry

The grade 7 class is starting an ipad project and this is our first attempt at using an app called 'Screen Chomp'. This simile poem is created by Carter Garvie about a character from the novel, 'Ghost of Spirit Bear'.
